Robbie and Murray Lathrop grew up in South Carolina. Their work with short-term mission teams around the world led them to Nicaragua in 2001. Burdened with the tremendous spiritual and physical needs of the Nicaraguan people, they followed God's call to return and serve there as a family in 2005.

Robbie's background in marketing, construction, and engineering has allowed him to use his skills on the mission field to meet many needs. Their ministry includes developing a national pastoral training center; coordinating short-term teams; providing shelter, food, clothing, and medical care; and sharing the gospel with the needy. Robbie and Murray hope their efforts in mercy ministry will lay the groundwork for a church-planting team in Nicaragua.

Consider how God might have you join with them to bring relief and the gospel to the people of Nicaragua.

Born in Northern Mexico, Caleb's love for missions began as a child through seeing his parents and grandparents minister there. After high school in Mexico, Caleb attended college and seminary in the U.S. During the summers he led mission trips, worked as an interpreter, and ministered in churches throughout Mexico. After marrying Aimee in 1998, Caleb went on to complete his master of theology degree and work in the Hispanic ministry at their home church. Aimee grew up in a Christian home in Greenville, South Carolina, and felt called to missions at a young age. In college she studied elementary education.

Caleb and Aimee are following God's call to work among the people of Mexico by assisting in the planting of Reformed and covenantal churches in northern Mexico through training and mentoring national church planters. Caleb now resides in Monterrey, where he serves as president of the Theological Institute of Ministry (ITEM). ITEM now has campuses in three state capitol cities: Monterrey, Ciudad Victoria, and Saltillo.

Throughout Mexico, crosses hang in almost every home, but few who revere this Christian symbol understand that Christ's death on the cross is sufficient for their salvation. Caleb and Aimee invite you to be part of God's work.
